It goes steeply uphill! Right at the beginning of the hike. But that’s the way it is with castles: They stand on mountains. People who want to explore castle ruins have to climb up the mountain. In our case, it’s the Schönberg, where the remains of the Schneeburg is between Freiburg-St. Georgen and Ebringen. The way is worth it, the view is beautiful. Immediately afterwards, the drops of sweat are dried with fresh Federweiser and delicious food.
